GENERAL SYSTEM SET-UP
COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS AND TIPS INCLUDED IN KIT
STEP 1. Level your rv.. make sure area for cups or velcro is clean and dry. remember, slides, and wheelwells are often higher then the rest of your rv,, these area's will be a seperate panel, raised to cover properly
TIP: ALLOW SEPERATE PANELS TO OVERLAP EACH OTHER APROX. 3"INCHES, THE PVC HOLD DOWN SYSTEM WILL HOLD THEM TOGEATHER
TIP: YOU CAN BE CREATIVE WITH OUR SKIRTING- IF THE SKIRTING IS WHERE YOU WANT IT BUT THE CUP IS IN A BAD SPOT, YOU CAN EXTEND THE CUP UP FROM THE SKIRTING USING THE ENCLOSED FELT STICKS... CLIPS ARE ALSO INCLUDED TO CLIP THE TOPS OF PANELS TOGEATHER, OR REATTACH TRIMMED STEP MATERIAL BACK TO THE CROSS BAR. ECT..
Start your install at one of these joints. The fewer joints the better. Take your time with the set-up. If you wish to trim your skirtings height now is a good time.
STEP 2: INSTALLING THE CUPS: First put the hook on the cup into the grommet on skirting, then place cup onto surface and push on with the button on the cup. Allow cups to mold to surface, recheck occasionially, if a cup comes loosesimply push it back on
TIP: SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO PUSH THE CUPS ON MORE THEN ONCE. THE REPOSIONABLE ADHESIVE WORKS WELL ON CUPS, SIMPLY RUB ON CUP AND INSTALL. USE THIS ONLY IF NEEDED. WHEN CUPS ARE TO BE REUSED THEY NEED TO BE CLEANED AND ALLOW TO SIT AT ROOM TEMPTURE FOR AN HOUR OR SO TO REGAIN THERE SHAPE.
Repeat step on next cup, pull the skirt snug with the each cup as you go along assuring a nice fit. If you make a cut for seperate panel or need a grommet where there isn't one a grommet kit is supplied for this with your kit. velcro also works well in these area's and is simpler to install,
TIP: WHEN PUTTING VELCRO ON YOUR SKIRTING USE THE SUPPLIED LOCKTITE SPRAY ADHESIVE ON THE SKIRTING AND VELCRO BEFORE JOINING THE TWO. DO NOT USE ON THE RV.. IT IS TO STRENGTH THE VELCRO-SKIRT BOND..
Continue on around your rv paying close attention to keeping it straight and wrinkle free, take your time. When doing a slide a seperate panel may be needed on the slide end that actually slides into the rv. This area is commonly higher then the rest of the slide, this is a good area to use velcro to hold the skirt on. Use the clips supplied for the sharp edge of your slide, clips should slide over the gasket and hold the skirt well.
TIP: IF CLIP IS TO LOOSE USE A SCRAP PIECE OF SKIRTING INTO THE CLIP AND
WRAP INTO THE CLIP SO IF FITS TIGHT, I USE 2 CLIPS PER END OF SLIDE. ONE HIGH, ONE LOW.
STEP 3: YOUR PVC SKIRT TO GROUND HOLD DOWN SYSTEM: You buy the schedual 40. 1/2" inch pvc pipe ( don't forget the 90's for corners)locally and use the enclosed c-clips to hold the skirt to the pvc pipe, Do not glue the pipe together so you can dismantel later for travel. Wrap fabric around pipe and place clamp on. As you continue on, pull fabric snug to avoid wrinkles. To remove clamp grap fabric right in front of clamp and pull up.
TIP: NUMBER EACH PIPE FOR EASY REINSTALLATION LATER. KEEP PVC PIPE SHORTER ENOUGH FOR YOU TO HAUL IN YOUR RV
IF HIGH WINDS ARE AN ISSUE YOU CAN PUT A WEIGHT ON THE INSIDE OF EACH CORNER OF YOUR SKIRT.
IF EXTREME COLD IS AN ISSUE, PUT A HEAT BULB OR SUCH TO KEEP PIPES FROM FREEZING.
TIPS: DOORS, STEPS , BUMPERS, ECT. CAN EASILY BE TRIMMED AND REATTACHED WITH THE VELCRO, OR A GROMMET AND CUP, YOU CAN BE CREATIVE AS YOU WISH, KEEEP IT SIMPLE.
THE CUPS CAN GENERALLY BE LEFT IN PLACE WHEN YOU TRAVEL, ESPECIALLY WHEN USING THE REPOSIONABLE ADHESIVE ON THE CUPS, IN EXTREME CASES OF CUP ISSUES YOU CAN USE THE LOCTITE ADHESIVE TO
ATTACH TO YOUR RV, BUT THEY WONT BE EASILY REMOVED.
